Lash Extensions
Classic, Volume, Mega Volume, and Wet Look Lash Extensions each provide a different effect depending on how they're applied and the final look you want to achieve:
Classic Lash Extensions
-
Technique: This is the most straightforward technique, where one extension is applied to one natural lash. Classic lashes are typically thicker than individual natural lashes but still relatively subtle.
-
Look: Classic lashes create a more natural, enhanced look by adding length without too much volume. It’s essentially like wearing mascara, but with more length and definition.
-
Best For: People who want to add length and definition to their natural lashes but don’t want a dramatic effect. Perfect for first-time lash extension clients or those with naturally thicker lashes who want a subtle enhancement.
-
Effect: Soft, elegant, and understated.
-
Longevity: Lasts 4-6 weeks on average, depending on your natural lash cycle and aftercare.
Volume Lash Extensions
-
Technique: Volume lashes are applied using multiple lighter, thinner extensions (typically 2-6 lashes per natural lash) that are fanned out and attached to each individual lash. The key is that the lashes are light and fluffy to avoid damaging your natural lashes while still creating significant volume.
-
Look: The result is a fuller, more voluminous lash line with a soft, fluffy, and fanned effect. It looks much denser than Classic lashes, but the effect is still quite natural.
-
Best For: Clients with thinner or sparse lashes who want added volume and fluff, or those who want a more defined lash line without going too bold.
-
Effect: Soft, voluminous, and full, but still natural-looking.
-
Longevity: Usually lasts around 4-6 weeks, depending on natural lash growth and care.
Mega Volume Lash Extensions
-
Technique: Mega volume lashes are a super-charged version of volume lashes, where 6-10 thinner extensionsare applied to each natural lash. These extensions are even finer and lighter than traditional volume lashes, allowing for a very full, lush, and dramatic effect.
-
Look: The result is extremely voluminous with a dense, black appearance. Mega volume lashes give a bold, high-impact look that’s super fluffy and dense, creating a lot of drama and a fuller lash line.
-
Best For: People with thin, sparse lashes who want maximum volume, or those who love bold, glamorous lash looks. Perfect for special occasions or anyone who wants a bold statement with their lashes.
-
Effect: Dramatic, voluminous, and ultra-fluffy with a high-impact appearance.
-
Longevity: Typically lasts 4-6 weeks, depending on aftercare and your natural lash cycle.
Wet Look Lash Extensions
-
Technique: The wet look isn’t a specific type of extension, but rather a styling technique for lash extensions. It involves applying the lashes in a way that mimics the look of freshly wet or dewy lashes—meaning they’re often clumped together or shaped in a way that gives them a more damp, glossy look.
-
Look: The wet look creates a clumped or clustered effect, often with a bit of a shine to the lashes. It looks as if the lashes are still wet or just freshly applied mascara. This is typically more dramatic than the other styles and has a unique, glossy appearance.
-
Best For: Clients who want a bold, editorial look with a bit of an edge. It's popular for photoshoots or occasions where a more dramatic, glossy appearance is desired. Some people also request this for a more “lived-in” look—like the “I woke up like this” vibe but with volume.
-
Effect: Glossy, clumped, and a bit wet-looking with added drama.
-
Longevity: Because the lashes are clustered or clumped together, this style may need more regular touch-ups and could last 4-6 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth and the technique used.
Application
Once applied by a licensed, trained, and certified lash tech who uses the best eyelash extensions and medical grade adhesives these lashes are yours. You can swim, shower, and sleep all the while looking gorgeous. So if you are thinking of getting eyelash extensions this is what you can expect.
One single eyelash extension is applied to a single natural lash. This process is repeated until a full set of eyelash extensions are completed. The ultimate goal is to lash every natural lash with a single eyelash extension. They will shed with the growth cycle of your natural eyelashes.
Lash extensions are sustainable. They require lash extension fills every two to three weeks as your lashes grow out and shed. New lashes would be lashed and grown out lashes removed.
When researching good lash extensions consider salons that do eyelash extensions almost exclusively. An experienced lash artist has the knowledge and skill required to safely apply lashes and also they are trained in eyelash extension removal. Never try to remove lashes on your own.
All volume sets are hand made fans therefore the artist can control the weight of the fan applied to your natural lash.
